Description
This project is a hard to describe simply. In essence it is a book containing close to 30 years of the journey and tales of Walking Man. There are currently 286 pages and over 130 illustrations. There are stories, poems, and visions, as well as notes on the founding of The School of the Transfer of Energy. There is even a puppet play. The main part of the text and the largest section of the book is the actual Diary of a Tree Standing On Its Head, which is the account of Walking Man being a tree turned upside down. It is produced entirely in my workshop. Printed on Mohawk Superfine 100lb text paper, and bound in French’s Kraftone Card Stock. While I have made some hard bound versions, the spirit of this book is in this humble paper binding, which I have stitched by hand in my shop. It opens nicely and the paper is very good. The printing and illustrations are very crisp and bright, printed on a Canon Pro-1000 ink jet printer. The Diary of a Tree Standing On Its Head is also an open ended affair- it changes and grows as I work on it so there is no “edition” to number, just the number of each book that has been made. These I am offering up here are numbers 30, 32, 33, & 34. If you have any questions about it please email me at playbanjo@gmail.com.
